The Company
GDB was established in 1995 by Philip Bird. We are a friendly family firm, run by Phil, wife Gloria and two sons Adam and James. Phil, who has over 25 years of experience in the building and glazing trade, will be your first contact with the company. He will personally oversee the design and construction of your conservatory from beginning to end. Gloria, who manages accounts, materials and deliveries, will make sure that the whole project runs smoothly and efficiently.
From the very beginning, GDB has been committed to total quality in product and customer service, and this has been one of the fundamental reasons for the company's success. We have built up a reputation as a trustworthy company, and most of our work comes from past customers' recommendations. Our work carries a full 10 year guarantee on recommended frames, roof systems and glass. We are fully equipped with all the latest tools, enabling us to complete all contracts efficiently and on time. Full trade and private references can be supplied on request.

We consider our customer service second to none. You deal with one person - Phil - from start to finish. Our team will work quickly and efficiently to install your new conservatory - we do not employ subcontractors. Our working day starts at 8am and finishes at 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Every care is taken to protect your property while we are working, by covering all turf, paths and driveways with polythene and plywood sheets. We dispose of all waste as we go, using our own vehicles, which means that there is no need for a skip outside your property. Our goal is to leave your home as clean and tidy as we found it!
With low overheads and no salesmen, we can be competitive in our prices. So, if you are looking for a friendly reliable conservatory company, with good old fashioned, no pressure service, then contact us. |
Designing Your Conservatory
We will visit you at home. Using the special conservatory design software installed on our computer, we will look at where you would like your conservatory to be, and produce a design which will complement your home.
We can advise you on aspects such as how many opening windows you will need, the best position for the doors, etc. Will your conservatory be south-facing? If so, you should think of heat reflecting materials, so that you can have a conservatory with comfortable heat levels all year round. |
Your conservatory can be fitted with:
- electronic roof vents which can be thermostatically controlled, with rain sensors
- remote controlled ceiling fans with lights
- air conditioning units that also heat and dehumidify
- Pilkington K glass, heat reflecting roof glass or insu polycarbonate
- plug sockets and TV points
- choice of window boards
- floor tiles or laminate flooring
- special options for the disabled, such as wide low-threshold doors for wheelchair access, ramps, grab rails etc.
There is a massive amount to think of, and we are more than happy to help you in choosing the best solution.
Appointments will take approximately one hour. At the end of this time you will be able to see what your finished conservatory will look like on the computer. A second appointment of approximately 10 minutes will be needed so that we can give you the finished presentation package, consisting of conservatory drawings, information about ceiling fans and so on, terms and conditions, guarantees, etc.
